Seruwaia Caucauniqoli is staying true to form at the Suva Zone 2 athletics competition after breaking the intermediate girls discuss record set in 1996.
The SJSS sixth former’s discus throw was 32.76m breaking the 24 year old record of 32.44m set by Suva Grammar Student Seruwaia Tuvou in 1996.
Coach Karalaini Seruiratu had expected gold from the athlete saying it was one of three records the Waimanu Road squad expects to break today.
Caucauniqoli was also last years Intermedia Girls Discuss gold medalist.
“She is doing much better than she was last year and she has worked very hard for that. The weather may have an impact on our girls but they’ve all worked hard and should do well today,” Ms Seruiratu said.
