Quick actions led to arrest, and recovery of items

Quick action by members of a task force team resulted in the arrest of a man alleged to be involved in an aggravated robbery case last night.

A report was received from a 29-year old woman who was allegedly approached by an unknown person at around 9pm while she was trying to get into her car along Renwick Road in Suva.

Chief Operations Officer Assistant Commissioner of Police Abdul Khan said the suspect grabbed the victim’s handbag before fleeing the scene.

ACP Khan said a report was received whereby a Taskforce Team was deployed before 10pm and were able to recover the stolen items at the suspect’s home. 

The team pursued the suspect where he was arrested after 1am and was taken into custody at the Totogo Police Station where he remains in police custody.

Investigations continue.
