Fiji Elections: People’s Alliance names 11 more proposed candidates

The People’s Alliance today named 11 more proposed candidates ahead of Fiji’s 2022 General Election.

This brings to 35 the number of proposed candidates the People’s Alliance party has named to date, having named 24 in May.

The 11 named today are: Iakoba Jacob Kurutake, Mereoni Duaibe, Rajendra Prasad, Ratu Peceli Rinakama, Sila Balawa, Apisalome Vunisa, Tomasi Tunabuna, Tevita Boseiwaqa, Napolioni Naisara, Semi Lewere, and Noa Seru.

Those previously named include party leader and former Fijian Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, deputy leaders Manoa Kamikamica, Daniel Lobendahn and Lynda Tabuya as well as party general secretary Sakiasi Ditoka. The others include lawyer Fili Vosarogo, Jalesi Nakarawa, Jessica Bale Naevo, Lavinia Kaumaitotoya, Preetam Singh Shokar, Sadavisan Naicker, Sajal Narayan, former Magistrate Siromi Turaga, former BSP General Manager Corporate Cecil Browne, Free Bird Institute Chief Operating Officer Mereseini Baleilevuka, retired school teacher Setareki Bai, former Chief Economist of the Ministry of Agriculture Vatimi Rayalu, Josaia Rayawa, Ratu Tevita Momoedonu, Liliana Warid, Samuela Ligairi, Felix Magnus, Semi Degei and Manoa Naitala.

Of the People Alliance’s 35 proposed candidates, six are females.
