People Alliance name 12 more provisional candidates for Fiji election

People’s Alliance named 12 more names in the west of Fiji today, bringing to 24 the number of provisional candidates the party has named to contest the forthcoming 2022 Election to date.

The 12 include Freebird Institute Limited Chief Operating officer Mereseini Baleilevuka, seasoned banker Cecil Browne, Semi Degei, former resident magistrate Siromi Turaga, schoolteacher Manoa, former police officer and charity worker Samu, business consultant Liliana Warid, former deputy permanent secretary Agriculture Vatimi Rayalu, retired principal, and the father of Flying Fijian Seremaia Bai, Setareki, Felix Magnus, Tavioka Growers Association President Ratu Jo Rayawa, and Ratu Tevita Momoedonu.

In welcoming the candidates at Nadi Civic Centre this evening, party leader Sitiveni Rabuka expressed confidence in their selection saying that they have selected a “very strong team”.

He also reaffirmed plans to put forward 75 names when the nomination period opens proper, to contest all 55 parliamentary seats on offer during the 2022 General Election which is scheduled to happen anytime between 9 July 2022 and 9 January 2023.

The party announced its first 12 provisional candidates in Suva last week.
