Cema Nasau and Sofi Diyalowai scored a hat trick each in Fiji Kulas’ 10-0 win over American Samoa in their opening match of the OFC Women’s Olympic qualifier.
Nasau scored her first deep into first half injury time, added her second 13 minutes into the second half and completed her hat-trick 14 minutes from full time. Diyalowai scored her hat-trick 15 minutes into the game.
Preeya Singh, skipper Unaisi Tuberi, Koleta Likuculacula, and Kasanita Tabua got on the scoresheet with a goal each.
Nasau was named Player of the Match.
Coach Angeline Chua said the team was pleased with their outcome but know that they will have to continue working hard.
“Very pleased with the team’s performance. They are now focused on the next game,” Chua said.
Fiji take on Papua New Guinea in their Group B match at 1pm on Saturday (FJT).
