Vatuwaqa primary year 8 sit exams at Yat Sen Primary

Eighth-year students of Vatuwaqa Primary School are sitting their exams at Yat Sen Primary, at least for the final two days of exams including today’s papers, Fiji’s Ministry of Education confirms.

Examination for year 8 students, which concludes tomorrow, had to be relocated, with students of years 1 to 7 requested to remain at home, after an early morning fire today caused significant damage to part of the school.

“We understand that this may have caused some inconvenience, however, we have taken these necessary steps to ensure the safety and well-being of these students,” Permanent Secretary Education Anjeela Jokhan said in a statement issued this afternoon.

“The Ministry of Education wishes to thank the management, staff, and students of Yat Sen Primary School for allowing their companions from Vatuwaqa Primary School to use their school premises to complete their examinations.”
