Flying Fijian Semi Radradra, NRL star Tui Kamikamica, and Fijian Drua duo Iosefo Masi and Selestino Ravutaumada are but a few inspirational role models that the Taveuni rugby team are looking up to
as they enter the Fiji Rugby Union’s Vanua Cup Challenge.
Head Coach Josefa Satini said the island was brimming with rugby talent and was confident the boys would make it big too one day.
“These boys have been working so hard to get into the Taveuni team and we know that given the right environment and exposure, we will churn out more Semi Radradras, more Selestinos, more Masi, and Tui Kamikamicas in the near future.”
Taveuni is one of the two new inclusions into the Vanua Cup after they split from Cakaudrove.
“There is so much talent in the whole of Cakaudrove so it was a really good thing we split so we can give all the players a chance at game time.”
Taveuni play their first game against Ra at the Ra Sports Ground on Saturday.
