Suva Warriors retain Easter Cricket Championship title

Defending Cricket Fiji Easter Champs’ Suva Warriors successfully retained their title in this year’s competition.

Suva Warriors beat Suva Crusaders by 38 runs at Albert Park in Suva today.

Suva Crusaders won the toss and elected to bowl. The defending champion batted first with 110 runs for 9 batsmen before Crusaders fell short in the 17 overs for 79 runs.

Suva Warriors manager Viliame Soko said despite losing two games in the pool play, they made a few changes and the boys were up for the challenge.

“Coming into the final, we were confident that the boys will pull it through and maintain its reputation as the T20 Champions”, he said.

Meanwhile, the challenge of the Association Cup will be played tomorrow between Cup holder Moce and Ono-I-Lau.
