Saint Joseph’s Marianne Macedru recorded a throw of 11.59m in the Sub Junior Girls Shot Put to not only etch her name in the Suva Zone 2 record holders listing but also underline herself as a Gold medal contender and record-setter in the 2022 Coca-Cola Games come August.
Her throw for the Waimanu Road-based school in the Suva Zone 2 at the ANZ Stadium today also surpassed the current Coca-Cola Games record that was set in 2019 by Amy Peters of Jai Narayan College.
Peters recorded a throw of 11.47metres in the 2019 Coca Cola Games.
Macedru’s throw is the second record to be registered in the day event so far, and from the field as well in the Sub Junior Girls Discuss by Suva Grammar’s Mary-Jane Peters.
The 2022 Coca Cola Games is scheduled for 18-20 August.
