Eighteen-year-old Vishant Reddy registered the third-best time in the 800m heats, positioning him for the finals at 6 pm today.
The Korovuto College Gold Medallist recorded a time of 1:53.77, trailing Australia’s Jack Lunn (1:53.35) and New Zealand’s Liam O’Donnell (1:53.70).
Fiji’s Sailasa Moala also qualified for the 800m finals with a time of 1:56.27.
Qualifying for the 100m finals happening today are Waisake Tewa, who achieved a time of 10.81s in the Men’s category, and Kesaia Boletakanakadavu, who clocked 12.60s in the Women’s 100m finals. Suva Grammar student Claudie David, competing for Vanuatu, recorded a time of 12.55, earning her a spot in the finals as well.
The 100m final is scheduled for 7:35 pm (local time).
