Raynal to Control Fiji-Eng RWC2023 Quarter-Final as World Rugby Confirms Match Officials

France’s Mathieu Raynal will take charge of his first RWC finals game when he referees Fiji’s RWC2023 quarter-final against England at 3 a.m. Monday, October 16 (FJT).

Raynal will be supported by Australian referee Nic Berry and France’s Pierre Brousset as assistant referees with Wales’ Ben Whitehouse as the TMO.

The match will be played at Stade de Marseille in Marseille.

Announcing the appointments, World Rugby chairman Sir Bill Beaumont said, “I am full of admiration for how the match officials have performed at this Rugby World Cup and the example they set as ambassadors and guardians of the sport’s value.

“They have played their part in what will be remembered as a compelling pool phase.”

Jaco Peyper of South Africa will referee the Wales v Argentina game, also in Marseille, New Zealand ref Ben O’Keeffe who will also be controlling his first RWC finals game will control the France v South Africa match-up while England’s Wayne Barnes has been named to referee the Ireland-New Zealand encounter.
