Vatemo Ravouvou makes a comeback to the national 7s squad making the team that will depart for the Hong Kong 7s, next weekend, alongside Manueli Maisamoa and Rubeni Kabu.
The team compilation was released by the FRU late this afternoon listing the 2016 Rio Olympics Gold medallist with some experienced players and a debutant in Joji Nasova. Dropped from this round are Ropate Rere, Napolioni Bolaca and Filipo Bukayaro.
Coach Osea Kolinisau said, “We’ve had rigorous training over the past two weeks to ensure the boys are primed for this crucial leg of the series.
“Their competitiveness and determination in training are evident, and they’re highly motivated.”
Other players roped into the squad include Joseva Talacolo, Josese Batirerega, Jeremaia Matana, Suliano Volivolituevei, Waisea Nacuqu, Terio Veilawa, Filipe Sauturaga, Kaminieli Rasaku, Ponipate Loganimasi, Vuiviwa Naduvalo, and Viliame Naikausa
Fiji are grouped in a competitive pool alongside Australia, Canada, and France, setting the stage for thrilling matchups and fierce competition. The Hong Kong 7s tournament is scheduled for April 5-7.
