Police have charged a 27-year-old man who was apprehended Monday from a car wash in Nadi after he fled a scene of a fatal accident in which a 61-year-old man was killed close to midnight last Saturday.
He is alleged to have caused the death of the man in a hit-and-run accident along Navo in Malolo, Nadi, before fleeing the scene. Police had to appeal for information as well as do house-to-house and business visitation to identify and arrest him.
The 27-year-old has been charged with one count of dangerous driving occasioning death, and one count of failure to stop after an accident. He will be appearing before a magistrates court in Nadi.
