Fiji’s National Disaster Management Office will be carrying out a live tsunami siren test tomorrow, using all 13 sirens along the Suva-Lami coastline, advising members of the public that there is no need to evacuate when it starts at 11 am.
The NDMO said the test drive is part of their readiness check and to test the functionality of the sirens.
The sirens are located at:
- Water Authority of Fiji’s Kinoya treatment plant
- FINTEL in Vatuwaqa
- RFMF Officers training school in Vatuwaqa
- USP Statham
- USP Lower Campus
- USP Main Campus
- My Suva Park
- Government Training Centre, Nasese
- iTaukei Trust Fund Board
- SCC Civic Car Park rooftop
- Biosecurity, Renown St – Suva Central
- Government Shipping Services, Walu Bay
- Lami Town
