Fiji’s Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem says all contributions to FijiFirst from 2015 to 2019 “conform to the requirements of the law.”
In a statement this afternoon, Saneem said they also made enquiries with the party in relation to donations from persons who hold statutory board appointments and found that the donations “did not constitute any breach of electoral law.”
“In a few cases, other persons of the same name had made donations to the party,” the statement read.
Saneem said they also queried the party in relation to a donation, from an individual, exceeding the $10,000 limit “to which the party clarified that there was a typo error in the name.”
