Fijian nationals wanting to register for the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) Programme and the New Zealand Recognized Seasonal Employer (RSE) Work Scheme will have to wait till August 2024.
In a statement the Ministry of Employment, Productivity and Employment Relations stated that it needed to, among other things, clean up a back log of applications.
The temporary suspension of registration will run from January 1 to July 31.
“During this period, the Centre will facilitate the updating of backlog manual registrations including sorting and cleansing as well as the transfer of manual registration into the In-Country Recruitment Database (IRD), which will improve and enhance the efficiency of NEC services.”
