Moderna vaccines are being rolled out today with pregnant women on Viti Levu and those aged over 60 years living in the Suva-Nausori corridor given priority.
Pregnant women will be required to take their clinic card or a letter from their private practitioner to get vaccinated as well as a photo ID – whether it be at the nearest vaccination centre (for those living in the Suva-Nausori corridor) or antenatal health clinic at their sub-divisional hospital (for those residing elsewhere).
The elderly can go to the nearest vaccination centre including a drive-through. Home vaccination will be arranged for those who cannot make it to any of the vaccination centres.
The 150,080 doses of Moderna vaccines, was donated to Fiji by the US Government, arriving in the country last week. It is administered in two doses, 28 days apart, providing for full and quick protection.
Those who have taken the AstraZeneca vaccine in their first dose should receive the same for their second dose.
