Missing drug exhibit prompts discharge of duo

Lautoka’s High Court today discharged two people, accused of exporting cocaine to Australia two years ago, after seized drugs disappeared from a police station in Nadi.

Released are Fredrick Epeli and Justin Ho after Fiji’s Director of Public Prosecutions Christopher Pryde filed a Nolle Prosequi in court this morning after the ‘drug exhibit’ went missing from Namaka Police Station.

Fiji’s DPP office said police are investigating the case of the missing drugs.

Epeli and Ho were charged with one count of attempted unlawful exportation of illicit drugs. It is alleged that on 23 December 2018, the duo attempted to export a little over 2kg of cocaine to Sydney.
