Kerosene price remain the same this month, according to new fuel and gas prices listing released by the Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission (FCCC).
Announcing the new prices that became effective today, the FCCC says the review follows a one-month lag period and as such, the December 2022 local fuel prices are based on imports made by fuel companies in October 2022.
Prices effective 1 December 2022
FCCC has used November 2022 Saudi Aramco Butane Contract Price (CP), while international freight rates and foreign exchange rates are based on October 2022 imports to determine LPG product prices for December 2022.
The price of motor spirit and premix decreased as favourable movement was noted in the international refined fuel price and international freight rate for motor spirit, that is international refined fuel price and international freight rate for motor spirit declined, while the US dollar strengthened against the Fijian dollar when compared to last month’s review.
The change in the price for diesel has been attributed to unfavourable movement in the international refined fuel price of kerosene and diesel, that is price of kerosene and diesel increased, while favourable movement was noted in the international freight rate for kerosene and diesel, that is international freight rate decreased. The US dollar strengthened against the Fijian dollar for kerosene and diesel when compared to last month’s review.
The price for all LPG products in December 2022 increased in the Fijian economy as unfavourable movement was noted in the Butane Contract Price (CP) for November 2022, that is the butane CP increased by USD50/MT or 8.93%, while favourable movement noted in the international freight rate. The exchange rate slightly weakened against the Fijian dollar when compared to the last review.
