Fiji’s Police Commissioner Brigadier-General Sitiveni Qiliho says they are aware of allegations about a house in Suva, regarded as a hotspot for prostitution and trading in drugs, in which the individual named as a person of interest was a former police officer.
Mr Qiliho said the individual was dismissed from the Fiji Police Force due to disciplinary reasons.
“While we are in the process of substantiating the allegations made, I can assure the public that appropriate action will be taken if sufficient evidence is gathered to charge those involved.”
The case came to light after a Facebook post, alleging the said activities at the location, was shared widely across social media platforms. The post was deleted a few hours after it was put up yesterday, but not before screenshots of it were taken and shared as well.
