Infant among 3 killed in early-morning Ba accidents

A one-year-old girl died at the scene after the driver of the vehicle she was in allegedly fell asleep at the wheel, in one of the two separate fatal single-vehicle accidents that happened in Ba in the early hours this morning.

She was travelling with six other family members to a function at Nalotawa village in Ba when the vehicle allegedly veered off the road. The passengers which include four children and the driver are admitted to the Ba Mission Hospital.

The accident happened along Moto Road, at 1.30am; 30 minutes after a similar accident that claimed two lives near Wailailai in Ba.

In Wailailai, the victims both from Vadravadra, Ba, a 22-year-old man and a woman in her 40s survived but died as they were taken to Ba Mission Hospital.

unfortunately pronounced dead on arrival.

The other two passengers have been transferred to the Lautoka Hospital while the driver remains admitted at the Ba Mission Hospital.
