Four still to recover from COVID-19

Four overseas returnees remain admitted at the Lautoka Hospital Isolation Unit as they are still recovering from COVID-19, Fiji’s Ministry of Health confirms.

Today also marks nine days since the last border quarantine case was reported and, also three days away from marking one full year since Fiji recorded its first case.

Fiji has had 66 cases in total, with 60 recoveries and 2 deaths, since our first case was reported on 19 March 2020. The last 48 cases have been international travel associated cases detected in border quarantine.

As of Monday 15 March 2021, the Ministry of Health has carried out 33,838 COVID-19 laboratory tests, with a daily average of 239 tests per day over the last seven days, and a weekly average of 1615 tests per week over the last two weeks.

There are currently 884 people who have recently arrived from overseas undergoing mandatory 14-day quarantine in government-supervised border quarantine facilities.
