Fiji’s Cabinet has approved a review of the National Minimum Wage (NMW) and the ten sectoral minimum wage regulations (WRs).
The review includes proposals for new job classifications within the current WRs.
Initially set in 2014 at FJD 2 per hour, the NMW has been offered at $4 per hour since January 1 last year.
The review process will be undertaken by selected local consultants, with the outcome taken back to the cabinet for consideration.
