The first incident was reported by a company engineer who discovered a damaged and burning cable at their tower in Flagstaff. The second report came from a Nabua Police officer who noticed a tower along Ratu Mara Road on fire while on patrol.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Crime, Sakeo Raikaci said that the investigation team, led by Divisional Crime Officer Southern, is working to apprehend those responsible for damaging the infrastructure.

The fire caused network disruptions in the Suva CBD, Domain, Flagstaff, Samabula, Laucala Bay, Grantham Road, Nasese, Vatuwaqa, Rifle Range Nabua, and Laucala Beach.
