Fiji has now been placed under heavy rain alert as a trough of low pressure forms to the west of Fiji.
The pressure will later move East therefore covering areas from Suva to the rest of Fiji from Wednesday till Friday.
“Occasional to periods of rain, heavy at times, and thunderstorms are expected from Wednesday afternoon or evening. Localised heavy falls may lead to flash flooding in low-lying and flood-prone areas. There is also chance of river flooding,” the Nadi Weather office indicated.
Authorities are urging the public to stay away from flooded drains especially with children still on school holidays. The last few days flood waters caused traffic halts in certain places like Namatakula village, the Naboutini and Serua flats.
