Fiji Elections: Year 8 & 12 exam schedules likely to be revised

External examination schedules for students in years 8 and 12 are bound to change following the announcement by Fijian authorities that elections will be held on Wednesday 14 December.

As per the previous two elections, election days are usually declared a public holiday allowing for the usage of schools that have been listed as polling venues, such as Ratu Sir Lala Sukuna Memorial School for voters registered in and around Nabua.

This means that year 8s who are due to sit their Maths, and vernacular papers likewise those in year 12s for their Home Economics and History papers on 14 December will have to sit those exams some other day, details of which are expected to be announced “in due course”.

It is understood Ministry of Education officials will be meeting next week to discuss the issue.
