Fiji Elections: People’s Alliance files appeal and reserves’ names

The People’s Alliance submitted three more applications today whilst they await the outcome of their appeal on three that were rejected.

Last week, the party filed 55 names, 52 of which were approved and three rejected.

General Secretary Sakiasi Ditoka says they submitted names of people in their reserves list in case their appeal is not successful.

“If they do find something else with the three, it will probably be too late to do anything,” Mr Ditoka said.

Mr Ditoka opted not to disclose names of provisional candidates whose applications have been declined likewise their reserves, saying he would prefer the process takes its course.

The party will withdraw their reserve candidates’ names if their appeal is allowed.
