Fiji’s People Alliance party today submitted its 55-member provisional candidates’ list, a day after they were sent back due to documentation issues.
After having met with the Supervisor of Elections, General Secretary Sakiasi Ditoka said: It was accepted…and we are raring to go now. We are very happy that this has been completed, and now in the next phase of completing what we are all aiming to do, which is to form the new government.”
Regarding the setback, having turned up to St Stephen’s Building yesterday only to be turned back, Mr Ditoka said: “We had some formatting issues. Like they sent us the Word format of the declaration and some of them came up two pages and it was signed by legal counsel from outside. They wanted it on one page.”
The party is expected to launch its manifesto at Namoli Village in Lautoka next Saturday.
