Parents and guardians whose children use the subsidised eTransport cards can redeem the cards from today, Fiji’s Ministry of Education says.
In a statement, the ministry pointed out that eTransport cards had been topped up and redeemable at any Vodafone outlet, or via the buses, district offices, or at the ministry headquarters’ Waisomo House carpark.
“In preparation for school, parents/ guardians are requested to redeem cards for their children before the term begins and ensure that the cards are ready for use when students start school on 6 February,” Acting PS Education Timoci Bure said.
Students who are unable to redeem their cards are advised to contact the Transport Assistance Unit on 3220429 and 3220570 or email Jone Rabuatoka, Sandeep Kumar, and Shavneel Chand at jone.rabuatoka@govnet.gov.fj, sandeep.kumar01@govnet.gov.fj and shavneel.chand01@govnet.gov.fj respectively.
The 2023 academic year starts on 6 February 2023.
