Fiji Pearls begin Netball World Cup prep

The Fiji Pearls begin preparations for the Netball World Cup this week with a training camp that is being attended as well by their overseas-based players.

Under the watchful eyes of coach Una Rokoura and specialist coach Yvette McCausland-Durie, the squad will undergo high-performance training, including netball matches, cross-country running, and team bonding activities.

A total of six overseas players and five players from the Netball Fiji Academy program are part of the camp.

“It is a message to the players of our expectations of them as individuals and as a squad to prepare well for the Netball World Cup. It is also an excellent opportunity for both local and overseas-based players to get to know each other better,” Netball Fiji CEO Vivian Koster said.

Next up on the Pearls campaign schedule is the February camp, followed by training matches against invited overseas teams at the end of March, then the Pacific Aus Sports Netball series in April, and the training camp in May, June, and July including a New Zealand trip.
