The rebuilding of the Great Council of Chiefs complex in Nasese has begun, some months after the reconvening of the Bose Levu Vakaturaga.
The building caught fire in December 2019 and investigations later found that a lit mosquito coil caused it.
In a statement today, the Fiji Government said Pacific Building Solutions has been awarded the work to rebuild what is to be the meeting house of the chiefs of Fiji.
At the site today, wokmen and equipment were spotted and it is understood that the demolition work to remove remaining remnants of the foundation and building systems are underway.
The reconstruction is to be completed in 2025.
