Boy, 17, taken in over allegedly harbouring recaptured inmate

A 17-year-old boy will be appearing before a magistrates court in Suva today charged with one count of harbouring inmate Lemeki Tupali while he was on the run from Corrections officers last week.

The teenager, residing as well at Wailea Settlement where Tupali was recaptured, is the third person to be taken in by authorities for their alleged involvement in assisting the inmate.

The other two, a 32-year-old woman and an 18-year-old man, tried for the same crime are in remand awaiting their next court appearance.
