Ba Pro Dragons set to carry West’s hopes in Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby League Grand Finale

Ba Provincial Freebird Institute will be carrying the West’s hopes in this year’s Vodafone Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby League Grand Finale, set to take place this Saturday at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori.

The team will face tough competition from Ratu Kadavulevu School Eels and Mahatma Ghandi Memorial Dragons in the U15 and U17 grades, respectively.

Ba Provincial Principal Waliki Nasau expressed confidence in the team’s preparations, saying, “We are working very hard in anticipation of tough match-ups. Even though we lost in the semi, it is a blessing in disguise as two of our development grades are coming up.”

He further added, “We are not only looking inside the box but also outside of the box in terms of looking at the welfare of the rugby players for the next two or three years.”

Nasau noted that they are a team that always keeps a low profile. He called on supporters to come out and show their support for the team.

The entry fees for the event are $15 for adults and students without uniform and $10 for students with uniform and those aged 12 years and under.

The fixtures for the event are as follows:

9am – 9.55am: U15 RKS Eels vs Ba Pro Dragons
10.15am – 11.05am: Women’s Lomaivuna Raiders vs Namosi Titans
11.25am – 12.30pm: U17 MGM Dragons vs Ba Pro Dragons
1.30pm – 2.55pm: U19 RKS Eels vs Naitasiri Warriors
