Army was crowned the new winners of the 48th Fiji Bitter Marist 7s after they beat a spirited DXC Babaas side from Saunaka in Nadi.
Lasaro Bogisa, captain of the DXC Babaas said they were happy with their performance and said this was just the beginning of big and better things for his team.
“We came determined to give our best at this tournament. It wasn’t easy because we played against some of the best teams and best players in the country so we had to really up our game and work together.”
“Army gave us a good game and I congratulate them for the win today.”
At the full time whistle, DXC could only put 5 points on the board to Army’s 17.
The Fiji national women’s 7s squad playing as Mount Masada took out the women’s title after they thrashed Army 24 – 0.
In the main plate final, Raiwasa Taveuni lost to Navy 5 – 8 and in the Bowl final, Fire collected 7 points against Ravuka Sharks who weren’t able to put any scores on the board.
