Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum has resigned as FijiFirst General Secretary with immediate effect due to his medical condition.
In a letter posted on the political party’s Facebook page, Sayed-Khaiyum, who seems to be in Singapore, cited a series of medical procedures he has undergone and will undergo in the coming weeks that “will have a deleterious impact on my ability to attend to daily commitments, at least for a while.”
Following his departure, Faiyaz Koya will act in the role until a permanent appointment is made.
