A little over 17 per cent of Fiji’s target population have been vaccinated, after close to 5,000 more people received their first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine on Wednesday.
Stats released by the Ministry of Health showed that 4,787 people were vaccinated on Wednesday, bringing up the total number of people vaccinated, as of that day, to 111,801
Fiji’s target vaccination population stands at 650,000 people.
Today the country’s vaccination campaign was buoyed with 20,000 more AstraZeneca doses received from the Australian Government, part of the country’s 1 million commitment, that along with the 500,000 offered by the New Zealand is enough to cover the country’s target population.
Fiji had also received vaccines from the Indian Government. Vaccination rollout continues in Suva and Nausori today where all of the active cases to date are located.
