Ashif Ali from Rotuma High School scooped two gold medals in the Junior long distance events at the Maritime Zone held at the HFC stadium in Suva today.

Ali clocked 5.36.34 in the 1,500 meters and 2.21.15 in the 800 meters.

Set to make his second appearance in the Coca Cola Games which starts Thursday, Ali is determined to make it a successful one this year.

He is one of three athletes from his school participating in the games, with the other two competing in Dicus and Shotput events.
