Twenty-one reps from seven political parties convened for a three-day workshop in Suva this week to enhance their understanding of the electoral process.
Ana Mataiciwa, the Supervisor of Elections, stated that the “Introduction to Elections” workshop aligns with the FEO’s vision of fostering a transparent electoral environment and equipping political party representatives with the necessary knowledge and skills for effective engagement in the democratic process.
“This workshop is a crucial step in our efforts to build a robust and informed electoral system in Fiji. We believe that by working together and understanding the intricacies of the electoral process, we can ensure the integrity and transparency of our elections,” Mataiciwa said.
The workshop covered various aspects of the electoral process, including the legal framework governing elections, the roles and responsibilities of electoral stakeholders, and the operational procedures followed during elections.
