Fiji’s Registrar of Political Parties Mohammed Saneem has added ‘We Unite Fiji Party’ to the list of registered parties, becoming the 11th party to be registered under the Political Parties (Registration, Conduct, Funding and Disclosures) Act 2013 and the eighth party eligible to contest the 2022 General Elections.
The registration comes after the party’s second attempt after their first application lodged in February was declined because they did not meet the minimum requirements, ie, the required signatures/supporters from the central and northern divisions.
The party reapplied on 22 March.
“There were no objections received and it was found that the applicant had successfully furnished all the particulars required under the law and hence the party has been duly registered,” Saneem said.
