United States Ambassador to Fiji Marie C. Damour acknowledged the media in Fiji for their work in covering national issues and serving as the voice of the people.
Speaking at a press conference in Suva, she noted that the dedication of Fiji’s media was showcased at the recent Fiji Awards for Media Excellence (FAME), where journalists and media professionals were duly recognized.
“I must congratulate everyone involved in the FAME awards, in celebration of achievements in media excellence.”
“This was wonderful celebration of the hardwork of everyone in the Fiji Media Association does to inform the population here in Fiji especially since this is the first time in 17 years so congratulations to everyone.”
Twenty media personnel walked away with awards at the event held at the Novotel Convention Centre in Suva.
