Ticket prices are to help meet costs: Fijian Drua vs Highlanders

Tickets for the Super Rugby Pacific match in Suva between the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua and the Highlanders will go on sale on Monday, selling between $15 to sit a child under 12 in the grass embankment area and up to $180 flat for a seat in the platinum zone.

Fijian Drua CEO Brian Thorburn said in deciding the pricing of the tickets, they accounted for a number of factors, chief among these to ensure fans are able to watch their heroes in action at the ANZ Stadium.

“We looked at the pricing of previous Super Rugby matches held at the ANZ Stadium and believe that our pricing in the various categories is extremely competitive. The fact that we’ve made almost half of the selling capacity available in the Bronze categories shows our desire to make this match affordable and accessible to as many fans as possible while ensuring that we’re able to cover the tremendous costs of bringing a match to Fiji.

“Our costs are numerous – from flying and hosting two large squads of players, officials, and match officials; broadcast crew as well as the hard costs of moving in tonnes of technical equipment for TV and LED signage.

“We’ve taken particular care in designing a matchday experience like no other to host an event that Fiji will be proud of. We are splitting the Gold section into alcohol and non-alcohol zones to comply with stadium liquor rules.”

Four categories of tickets for the ANZ Stadium in the capital are available – Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze.

Almost half of the available tickets for the match are in the Bronze category, which is the grass embankment seating, and priced at $30 for adults and $15 for children under 12. Silver tickets, seated in the concrete embankment are priced at $75 flat. The sides of the main grandstand of the ANZ Stadium are in the Gold Categories, split into alcohol and non-alcohol zones, and priced at $150. Platinum tickets are premium viewing positions in the centre of the main grandstand and priced at $180.

Tickets will be available at Fiji Sports Council offices and Post Fiji outlets Fiji-wide. Fans can grab tickets from as early as Monday 21 March to catch their favourite Drua players in action against the Highlanders from New Zealand, in what promises to be a thrilling rugby spectacle.

Fans purchasing tickets from Post Fiji outlets Fiji-wide will get a receipt, which they can then exchange for match tickets at the Fiji Sports Council offices from the time of purchase right up until matchday. The Club is encouraging fans to purchase tickets early to ensure that they do not miss out on their one chance this year to catch the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua in action.

“We ask fans to plan their trip to the Stadium for the game and to arrive to collect their tickets early so they don’t miss kick-off. Our players will love to see the grounds full of Fijian colour and sounds.”
