Tabakaucoro wins Gold, underscores sprinter status

Banuve Tabakaucoro ran the fastest time in the Men’s 100m to add Fiji’s second Gold medal at the Pacific Mini Games 2022 in the Northern Marianas.

Tabakaucoro clocked 10.56s to maintain his claim as the Pacific Sprint King.

Earlier in the evening, Samuela Railoa finished second in the Men’s 400m heats to qualify for the finals tomorrow. Meanwhile, the baseball team has qualified for the medal playoffs after defeating Solomon Islands 13-0 in the group playoffs. In weightlifting, Charlie Lolohea won three Silver medals in the Men’s 96Kg category. Snatch 115kg and C&J of 153kg giving a total of 268Kg.

Fiji picked up its first Gold medal earlier in the day via lifter Apolonia Vaivai.

Fiji remains 12th on the overall medal standings that has Papua New Guinea at the helm.
