Suva Grammar School is creating waves after including two girls in the team that is currently playing at the U19 Secondary School competition currently underway at Albert Park in Suva.
Coach Vikal Prakash says the two girls have been part of the team for a while now and are an important part of the group.
“They have earned their place in the team, they compete at the same level as the boys and have made a huge positive difference to us as a whole. We value them.”
“We want to promote the sport to other young women out there in secondary schools, we want to include girl in our sport because this sport is for everyone.”
SGS however weren’t able to stem the rhythm that Ratu Finau Secondary School from Lakeba brought in the final game of the day who won the game by 20 runs.
