Suva Grammar School underlined their dominance by winning four out of the six categories (U14, U15, U17, and U19) in the Punjas Digicel Secondary School Netball Finals at the Vodafone Arena in Suva today.
Drawing on her experience from her Netball World Cup outing in South Africa recently with the Fiji Pearls, Suva Grammar captain Elina Drikibau played a pivotal role, leading her team to a 19-13 victory over Adi Cakobau School in the U19 finals and the final game of the day, solidifying Suva Grammar’s dominance over the three-day competition.
In winning they established their supremacy in the U14, U17, and U19 categories, which they had shared with Adi Cakobau School the previous year, and outplayed Jasper to secure the U15 title.
Suva Grammar School’s U14 team secured a 16-10 victory against Niusawa. In the U15 grade, they dethroned Jasper with a close match ending 16-13, and in the U17 division, proved their strength by outplaying Yat Sen with a commanding 19-5 win.
William Cross secured the Open Girls title with a 14-11 victory over Yat Sen. Yat-Sen compensated for their loss by winning the boys’ title, defeating St. Thomas High 19-11.
