Reigning champions Suva defeated Kadavu with a final score of 36-31. Kadavu controlled the opening stages of the match, scoring the first two tries and leading 17-12 at halftime.
Suva fought back in the second half, with loose forward Elizabeth Waqavou scoring a hat-trick of tries to keep the team in contention.
The score was tied in the final minute, but former Fijiana 7s playmaker Younis Bese scored the match-winning try after the final hooter had sounded to clinch the victory for Suva.
In the other semifinal, Namosi defeated Nasinu 30-21 after Nasinu established an early 7-0 lead via a converted try from winger Vilimaina Naitika.
Namosi responded, taking a narrow lead before halftime, and their resurgence led by veteran Rusila Nagasau and was complimented by Vive Sikisawana, who scored two tries, including the match-winner, cementing the victory for Namosi.
Suva will face Namosi next Saturday for the Subrail Women’s Cup.
