Saint Johns College of Cawaci successfully defended the Bhasin Cup in th U19 grade of the Crest Chicken Fiji Secondary Schools Hockey Competition at the Hockey Turf at Laucala.
SJC beat St Thomas High School 1 – 0, while in the U16 grade, Tilak High School won the Noal Gibson Cup defeating Marist Brothers High School 1 – 0.
In the U16 girls division, Nadi Sangam College beat St Johns College 4 – 2 taking the Melaia Sandy Cup to the West.
Marist Brothers High School coach Fatima Mario said the boys have had a good outing at the tournament.
“These are young kids, they love the sport of hockey and so as a team I am very proud of their performance and even though we didn’t win, I am still very proud of how well they did.”
