Six Arrested in Early-Morning Drug Raid in Vatia Waters

Fiji Police have arrested six people, including four South American nationals and two locals, during an early-morning operation in waters off Vatia in Tavua.

Police confirmed that officers from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), Serious Organised Crime and Intelligence Department (SOCID), and the Western Division Taskforce carried out the raid. More than 100 bags containing parcels suspected to be cocaine were reportedly recovered. No official statement was made regarding the exact quantity of drugs seized.

Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu said the operation was carried out in collaboration with international law enforcement agencies. He added that investigations are ongoing.
