Maika Sivo’s career has ended with Paramatta Eels and the football player has thanked the Club for their investment in his career.

Yesterday the club posted Sivo’s departure and thanked him for the years he spent there.

Speaking to the media today, Sivo said the Eels will always remain a huge part of his life and family.

“My career in rugby league I owe largely to the Eels and I have been honored to be part of the great team at the Eels. They have given me alot in terms of growing in the sport and becoming the best I could ever be.”

Sivo described the Club as his home away from home adding that he has vowed to not play against the Eels once he left.

“My kids were born there and it’s all they’ve ever known so Paramatta Eels will always hold a special place in my heart. And I’ve told myself I can’t and won’t play against the Eels once I leave this club.”

On his future plans, the Momi, Nadi man said his manager was still sorting things out for him but in the meantime he was ready to help the Vodafone Fiji Bati against Cook Islands on Saturday.

“My manager is looking at a few things for me but for now I want to just enjoy being here in Fiji with the Bati.”

“Cook Islands is a good team with lots of really good players. We are prepared for them and will go into the game with the aim to win.”

The game against Cook Islands will kick off at 8.10pm at the HFC Stadium in Suva on Saturday.
