Sharing of primary student intimate video among 4 under probe

Fiji’s police are investigating four incidents of unconsented sharing of intimate videos including that of a year eight student.

According to police, the girl had shared with a boy a video of herself but later discovered that it had been shared with others without her consent.

The incident was reported at the Nabua Police Station and is being looked into by the police’s cybercrime unit.

The same unit also received requests from three women in Sigatoka seeking assistance to remove explicit videos of themselves that they initially shared with their partners, but are surfing the net.

“The women said the videos were initially shared with their partners, and later discovered that it had been shared in private groups,” police said in a statement.

Officers investigating the cases are requesting the public to be mindful of the images and videos they take or share “as it could fall into the wrong hands.”
