Forty-four-year-old Selina Sanday Seau is one of Fiji’s gold medal prospects at the Pacific Games 2023, scheduled to start next week in Honiara, Solomon Islands.
Seau is one of Team Fiji’s seven para-athletes and will be competing in both athletics and badminton.
She has previously represented Fiji twice in the Badminton Oceania Victor Para Oceania Championship and is now set to compete in shot put, discus, and javelin events at the upcoming Pacific Games.
The mother of three recently traveled to the Solomon Islands with Team Fiji’s General Manager, Josaia Tuinamata, for classification, as per Games Regulations for para-athletes switching sports. She impressed by winning two silver medals and a bronze in a local championship.
She credits God and her family for helping her realise her potential and build on her strengths.
Team Fiji will present its itatau on Wednesday and depart for the Games on Tuesday, November 14. The PG2023 is scheduled to take place from November 18 to December 2.
